For many days, I have wondered what do I say?
Is there anything useful, in knowing of me this way?
Just a visiting card, this space does seem to be,
How can you know, just by this, all about me?
I have a million thoughts, racing through my mind,
So many emotions, difficult to capture I do find,
A writer’s journey, in the quest of dreams, desire,
Straight from the heart, scars that burn like a fire.
Read my rhymes, dear friend, to know my heart,
I place my mind in poetry, a really subtle art.
Cast your minds on my work,
Just forget about li’l ol’ me,
I’m just an amateur writer,
Nothing much more to see.
With my trusted quill & ink,
I fill the voids my mind shows,
Balancing my thoughts, like
Thorns that complete a rose.
The poet amateur, that’s me,
Wandering on paths unknown,
In infinite lanes of my mind,
Where I always walk alone.
Thirteen years I have been in Blogsville, and over the time, my friends have christened me with nicknames. I’m Vinay, but having written under a pen-name for a long time, they call me by that name — Leo, so I’m Vinay Leo R.
I write a lot of poetry.. forms or free verse. I even dab my hand in inks of fiction and long series stories at times! I reside wherever inspiration holds its court, where the thoughts flow like the river goes over each stone.
I’m no professional in writing, still a student at heart, learning and becoming better as time passes. I may have a lot of writes, but yes, I’m still the amateur poet, wanting to better myself. Poetry is what keeps me going when I want to say I give up.! I rhyme without reason, because my love for writing is unconditional. To me, writing is an art that I’m trying to perfect.
It wasn’t my first choice actually, blogging.. I was brought to this beautiful world by a friend, and I’ve not looked back since.
I think we’re all amateurs at heart as we learn life’s lessons and express them in words which sometimes tumble over each other. Your piece captured the heart of many a writer. Thanks,
🙂 Thanks, Patricia 🙂
left stunned by your words as ever…
Thanks, Kirti 🙂
What a great take on writing and living…look forward to reading more..ELiza Keating

Before anything else, you have a purely magical and beautiful blog. I would have said it’s as beautiful as poetry but here it would seem only ironic.
Poetry is one of the noblest forms of expression, and to do it so well is an art you surely possess in abundance.

I’m glad you are accepting it! No issue whenever you do it.. I can understand the April frenzy has taken over! 🙂

Thanks, Uma.
You are a Mallu, Right? Have you written any malayalam poems?
Nope. I don’t write Malayalam poetry.
Absolutely fabulous Leo. I am busy doing the same at mine. Feel free to have a look should you get the chance. 🙂
I’m a bit of a lazy/busy reader, Nomzi 🙂 Will come by soon as I can.
No worries. Things take time. Especially the good things. Keep shining. 🙂

I knew I had to follow you when I saw the “rhyme without reason”,reading your blog and the about section made it certain 🙂
Thanks and welcome to my blog, Ginger 🙂
A well organised and skillfully laid out site you do have. Like you I too have been introduced into this world of blogging by somebody close to my heart or in fact by somebody who lives there. I find this intro itself very captivating and do intend to read every article of yours past and present and derive cues, being a novice. Your musings do leave an impression, good wordscraftmanship!!
Thank you. I am glad you liked the layout and the content 🙂 Most welcome to read my posts, and I hope you enjoy doing so.
Looks like the whole world was here before me! But as compensation I read the entire thing as well all the 68 comments above me 🙂
I’d like to say just two words “bloody hell” (Ron Weasly style) !
Thanks, Ishi 🙂

What masterpiece bits?
A.P.E.D? Thank you!
Hi Leo!
Good blog! Interesting writing! And amused by your fan following! Glad that I landed:)
We’re in search of potential bloggers across the country & I feel you deserve to be a part of our bloggers crew! I would love to brief you over an email. Can i have your id?
Glad you felt the writing was interesting, and it’s more of a friend following than a fan following I think.
Hope your search pays off, Thamizh 🙂 But I don’t do well as part of a crew. Thanks.
Just for the Asimov quote on the front page, Go Leo!

Vinay, (Leo?), would you please email me at wildwoman2@shaw.ca ? I have a question to ask you. LOL. (Dont be scared!)
Not scared 🙂 I have e-mailed you, Sherry.
Hey, pleased to meet you!
Likewise, Kunal. 🙂
Now where the heck is your follow button, Vinay??? ?
I wanna, your stuff is goooood! Tell me, buddy! Cheers!
Hi Kunal. 😀 Glad you liked my poetry! There’s a subscription option on the “Latest Posts” page. Because mine is self hosted WordPress, there’s no “follow button”. You could, alternatively, just add my blog address to WordPress Reader directly.
Glad I stumbled upon your FridayFictionairees story. Very good by the way. Looking forward to explore more of your blog when time permits.
Thank you, Charly. Glad you liked the story and for stopping by at this page. 🙂
Good God….it’s akin to climbing the Stairs to a Shrine…. Going through 96 comments before posting mine…..
Amazing blog….”stumbled” on it through the Daily Prompt….but I don’t see you there very regularly….
Was intrigued by “I rhyme without reason “, coz I like to do that too!!
Looking fwd to interesting interaction…..
LOL! 😀 It’s accumulated over the years, Aruna Menon. That’s why! 🙂 Glad you felt it was amazing. Happy to have you stumble across my humble abode on Blogsville.
I do try to be regular there, but it’s only of late I’ve started writing for the daily prompts. 🙂
Wonderful poem & about me.. Loved it.
Thank you, Hemangini 🙂
Love your “About Me”. It’s really good to get to know. It’s fascinating to see how you love to write. It’s great to get to know you. Lovely blog name too. It suits you perfectly.
Glad you loved the “About”. 🙂 Thank you very much, Suja. I am happy to hear that the blog name suits me perfectly! 😀
very interesting intro indeed!
Thanks!
Coming here for the first time Vinay, courtesy #WordsMatter. You have introduced yourself is such a delightful manner that I am now intrigued enough to read more of your poems. I am not a poet at all (can’t rhyme to save my life! 😉 ) But I enjoy reading poetry. Subscribing now!
Welcome to my little blog space, Meena. Please do read. I’m happy to have you over! Thanks for your kind words of appreciation. 🙂
