I’ve taken part in the Blogging from A to Z in April challenge every year since the first edition way back in 2010. This year, I’m planning to try and resuscitate my fiction. That’s a task, and it’s nice to have some company to make it slightly easier. Bhavya and I are both attempting stories this year, on the same emotion/feeling words as a theme. To find out what word it is, you’ll have to read the story, and the badge towards the end of the post. I’m trying not to use it in the story or the title itself, hence the choice to double theme and use the character name beginning with the day’s alphabet too. I hope you enjoy!
Esha
Esha rushed out of the house, cursing her alarm clock again for not working.
It was the last class of the semester today, and she needed to attend it to get her attendance past the cut-off for final exams.
She hailed an auto, not waiting for a bus. She closed her eyes, kept her fingers crossed, and prayed the lecturer would be considerate.
Paying the auto near the college gate, she ran inside and toward her classroom.
Out of breath, she reached, and stood at the door, making excuses to her lecturer who looked at her, bemused.
“It’s okay, Esha, come in, but leave the toilet paper outside,” said Mrs. Sharma, turning away as more than a few giggles came from her classmates.
Esha looked down, saw the long piece of paper stuck to her shoe.
Turning a shade of red, she bent down, removed it and walked to the back of the class, wishing the ground would open and swallow her up.

The theme word for alphabet E is EMBARRASSED.
Liked this? Read some of my earlier Fiction posts!
Considering the toilet paper crisis right now, I don’t think she would be embarrassed anymore.

Darn sticky things sticking at the worst time.
I hope you and yours are staying safe and healthy during this difficult time.
