I nurtured a dream,
A dream just mine;
In which I believed,
And took it as a sign.
Ignored all the voices
That told I was wrong,
And set out to prove
It was where I belong.
The path was long,
No finish line in sight,
Just a deep set hope,
And a horizon bright.
Found a few voices,
That believed in me,
And lightened a bit,
I walked on happily.
I reached a new city,
Met those I admired,
Heard wordy songs,
All my heart desired.
Each moment became
A memory that lasts,
Realizing with a smile
An dream of the past.
With a new belief,
Onward now I stride,
Taking every step
With a lot of pride.
No voices remain,
And I wasn’t wrong,
Because now I know,
This is where I belong.

This is so inspiring and positive! They say that where there’s self belief and self love, your authentic self gets stronger, and the fearful, critical mind gets weaker. Glad that he followed his dream and heart.

Yes. Sometimes, when you know the path you want to and need to take, it’s all that matters. 🙂 Thank you, Shilpa!
Very positive poem!
Glad she reached where she belongs!
Now she can sing her own songs 🙂

I do like to rhyme without reason. 😉 Thank you Esha.
I feel this kind of freshness when I walk in the mornings with nature. The days I am sceptical to decide and still force myself to go, I realize that this is the place I belong to.
It’s nice that you could relate to my verse in a way, Geethica. 🙂 Thank you.
