Nurture a dream – #WriteBravely

nurture

I nurtured a dream,
A dream just mine;
In which I believed,
And took it as a sign.
Ignored all the voices
That told I was wrong,
And set out to prove
It was where I belong.

The path was long,
No finish line in sight,
Just a deep set hope,
And a horizon bright.
Found a few voices,
That believed in me,
And lightened a bit,
I walked on happily.

I reached a new city,
Met those I admired,
Heard wordy songs,
All my heart desired.
Each moment became
A memory that lasts,
Realizing with a smile
An dream of the past.

With a new belief,
Onward now I stride,
Taking every step
With a lot of pride.
No voices remain,
And I wasn’t wrong,
Because now I know,
This is where I belong.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. I feel this kind of freshness when I walk in the mornings with nature. The days I am sceptical to decide and still force myself to go, I realize that this is the place I belong to.
