Serene – #WriteBravely #WednesdayVerses

serene

There is a goal
That I have set
A place to reach
A mark to get
There is a path
That I can see
To that finish
It shall take me

But I ask myself
Is this life a race
To go from A to B
One path to trace
If near the road
A world serene
Unlike any other
Where I’ve been
Will I run ahead
Just goal in mind
Or stop to enjoy
The peace I find

A goal is great,
To find the road,
But this journey
It eases my load
Calms my worry
Brings me hope
That with troubles
I now can cope
For just a moment
I will admire too
And not ignore
That beauty true

When I go past
That finish line
I’ll celebrate it
With some wine
But I’ll look back
And never forget
The journey I took
This goal to get

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
