A fresh page, blank, plain,
Lies waiting for my verse,
Often they flow with ease,
At times, they feel terse.
Heavy now, my little heart,
Filled with many thoughts,
As the nib touches paper,
Uncertainty takes a spot.
Only the fresh page I see,
No burdens of failed past,
For each drop of blue ink,
I spill on this paper today,
Is a memory that will last.

Technically, every day is a fresh start. But yeah, I get what you are trying to say here π
Here’s to a year full of happy moments that will turn into happy memories!
Happy New Year to you π
Yes. Every day is a fresh start, but sometimes, it needs to be said, to be written, without the past hampering it! π Happy New Year to you too, Ishi!
Beautiful.
It’s a blessing if you could see just the plain paper and no marks of the past. π

It is. π I think the mindset makes a difference, SSJ. And this year, I’m looking at it positively. Glad you felt it was beautiful.
Nice one!
I hope to try my hand at some verses this year!

Glad to be writing again, Babby! π It felt right. Like the blank page had opportunities!
I look forward to many verses from you too!
That’s what a blank page offers- so many possibilities, and chances to see past the past. May you fill many fresh pages with your rhyming words and thoughts. π Joining you guys for Wednesday verses this Sunday evening from my part of the world.
