I’m doing #100DaysOfBlogging along with Reshmy. The theme for Day 4 of the writing adventure is Irksome.
So close, yet so far,
How irksome things seem;
Nearest to perfect it feels,
The fruition of a dream.
In the way, old beliefs,
Cast by society’s eyes,
Diminishing the value,
Of what seems my prize.
This helpless feeling,
It holds me quite strong,
Tempts me to give up,
And drown before long.
But something tells me,
Hope isn’t quite dead,
And it gives me strength,
To get up out of bed.
Another day begins soon,
First light is now near,
And I step forth again,
No longer irked by fear.
As part of our resolution to write more poetry in 2018, Reema and I have started this weekly prompt we’ve decided to call as Wednesday Verses. Each Wednesday, we’ll be writing a poem based on the prompt of the week, and sharing a linky. We invite you all to join us with your own poems on the prompt. Write on your blogs, and link up with #WednesdayVerses. We are happy to have you rhyme with us. Welcome!
Prompt #28 is “Irksome”.
Please link up only if you’ve written a poem for the prompt!

Yes…yes…yes…every dawn is a new chance at hope, love and life. Nice verse, Leo. Reminder of the hope that is life.
Thank you. Hope that hope is always there. 🙂 Thank you, Resh.
