Trying to let go…
I’ve tried to let go of the past,
But it clings on at times still,
A heavy burden of mistakes,
Of tears that I once spilled.
This past, it stays so silent,
For a small trigger it yearns,
For unwanted words, it waits,
With an evil laugh, it returns.
To let go of the past, I wish,
I wish there was an easy way,
To forget what once was me,
To believe in who I am today.
As part of our resolution to write more poetry in 2018, Reema and I have started this weekly prompt we’ve decided to call as Wednesday Verses. Each Wednesday, we’ll be writing a poem based on the prompt of the week, and sharing a linky. We invite you all to join us with your own poems on the prompt. Write on your blogs, and link up with #WednesdayVerses. We are happy to have you rhyme with us. Welcome!
Prompt #23 is “Let Go”.
Please link up only if you’ve written a poem for the prompt!

Just what I wish!! Just the words that move around in my mind all day!

Thanks, Shilpa Gupte.
Letting go of the past is really difficult, especially when it carries things that are close to our hearts. Beautiful verse!

Yes. Even more especially when those things/people close to our hearts are the ones we have to let go of. Thanks, Reema.
Letting go of the past is the hardest. You have woven the misery so beautifully through your words, Vinay. Glad to read you after a while. Joining with my entry for Wednesday Verses this time. ๐

Glad to be read by you after a while, Vinitha. I think this blog has become silent of late, except for Wednesday Verses. ๐
