Train to Home
train horn
in a distant land,
a flurry of feet
as I simply stand;
as it arrives,
an excited voice,
a kid’s first trip,
much to rejoice.
a window seat,
laughter’s chime,
his journey begins,
but I travel in time.
the train departs,
adventure to come,
for me, it brings,
a dream of home.
As part of our resolution to write more poetry in 2018, Reema and I have started this weekly prompt we’ve decided to call as Wednesday Verses. Each Wednesday, we’ll be writing a poem based on the prompt of the week, and sharing a linky. We invite you all to join us with your own poems on the prompt. Write on your blogs, and link up with #WednesdayVerses. We are happy to have you rhyme with us. Welcome!
Prompt #18 is “Train”.
Please link up only if you’ve written a poem for the prompt!

Window seats while travelling on a train are the best! I haven’t travelled a lot by train- may be I should!

Window seats were fought for with sibling, especially when we were younger. 🙂 We loved to count scarecrows in the fields especially. Do try traveling by train, it’s a totally different experience, Reema. 😀
You’ve captured the child-like quality through this poem really well. Very nostalgic poem Vinay 🙂
