Not so merry May…

Unfortunately, the month of May 2018 seems to have been as consistent as April 2018. The end of the month brings with it some hope, though. Hopefully, that hope helps to slay some personal demons.

May 2018 Reflections

Reading and Writing in May 2018

I could read only 2 books in May 2018. One was a re-read of my favorite series (Harry Potter), and the other was a light read crime fiction that was interesting but not memorable in a good way. Harry Potter is a series I’d recommend to anyone any day of the week of course, so from my May books, it comes as no surprise that that’s my favorite.

I wrote 4 poems for #WednesdayVerses weekly prompt, and was quite happy with all of them. Reema and I are currently the regular writers, and we hope others join in soon too. We’re having fun with verse though. I wrote just one fiction story in May 2018, a 100 word story titled At Home, inspired by a picture prompt. A total of 6 posts this month, and that makes it a total of 50 posts this year. I’m happy with my writing journey so far this year, both quantity and quality wise.

May 2018 – Health and Life

I haven’t lost weight, but on the bright side, I haven’t gained weight either. The morning walks have reduced drastically though. The monsoon is here, and it seems to rain at short notice, so unable to maintain a regularity there. It is frustrating, but I’m keeping my cool.

I voted during the elections that happened in the state recently, though the result and the aftermath seems to be still ongoing. I’m not very interested in politics though. Thankful for a few good things that May 2018 brought, and thankful for His grace in few places too. Nothing overly exciting to remember though.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. I hope June is better for you. Sorry to hear you are struggling with some personal demons…they can be pretty shitty and tough to deal with. You’ve done well with the writing. And yes, I will certainly attempt to join Wednesday Verses more consistently!

    • I hope June is better too, Babby. Yes, the demons can be stressful and de-energizing, sadly. 🙁 Please do try to write more poems. They’re a pleasure to read!
