Step Back

Step Back

Take a step back
It’s quite okay,
Nothing wrong at all;
Better to do that,
Than keep going,
And up with a fall.

Return one step,
Contemplate ahead,
Does it feel right?
Do you need to turn,
Find a new direction,
Or do you see light?

Take a step back,
Better to do it now,
Than walking ahead,
It will be easier,
Than going further
To find regret instead.

wednesday verse step

As part of our resolution to write more poetry in 2018, Reema and I have started this weekly prompt we’ve decided to call as Wednesday Verses. Each Wednesday, we’ll be writing a poem based on the prompt of the week, and sharing a linky. We invite you all to join us with your own poems on the prompt. Write on your blogs, and link up with #WednesdayVerses. We are happy to have you rhyme with us. Welcome!

Prompt #14 is RETURN.

Please link up only if you’ve written a poem for the prompt!

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

    • Yes, Reema. Pushing to what we cannot do, and later finding out we made the mistake at a much farther step makes it more difficult. Though many realize it later only.
