This is my 9th attempt at the month-long blogging challenge, Blogging from A to Z. I’ve completed it 5 times so far. My theme this year is 7 Sentence Fiction, and the word I’m using for S is Saudade.
Saudade…
When I close my eyes, I can still hear your deep voice. I remember how you used to laugh, and how it would make me laugh too. Your footsteps I would hear even before you rang the doorbell and the door would be open to let you in. But when I close my eyes, I also remember how you had forgotten all of it.
I wish I could have helped you remember, but I know you couldn’t have even if I had had more time to try. I wish I had had more time to make more memories to remember. But it wasn’t to be… you left for heaven, grandfather, and all I am left with is this saudade.

Thank you, BellyBytes. 🙂
It’s such a beautiful word. I love such words that are not much used in english but should be. Profound one.
Ah. But if it were used too often, it might not seem as magical, Pratikshya. 😉 🙂
