This is my 9th attempt at the month-long blogging challenge, Blogging from A to Z. I’ve completed it 5 times so far. My theme this year is 7 Sentence Fiction, and the word I’m using for P is Promise.
Pinky Swear (The Promise)
There wasn’t a spare seat in the audience. Pinky stood on stage, suddenly very nervous. Only the big red curtain was before her.
“He did Pinky swear, but what if he isn’t there?” she thought, the fear coming unknowingly.
The curtains parted, and she saw the audience starting to click photographs.
Right in the first row, he stood, his salt and pepper hair and warm smile easy to recognize for her.
“Hi,” she mouthed, the 22-year old feeling like a child again as her dad looked on at her graduation ceremony.
