This is my 9th attempt at the month-long blogging challenge, Blogging from A to Z. I’ve completed it 5 times so far. My theme this year is 7 Sentence Fiction, and the word I’m using for H is Hunger.
Pangs of Hunger
I see the meal, it’s near, yet so far. I stay in the shadows, praying for it to stay still. Then, I can pounce.
I know I have to be quick, for if it senses me, I’m in danger.
Countless relatives have fallen prey to its reaction. Their lives stilled by the hands of fate.
We are blameless, after all, even we mosquitoes get pangs of hunger.

Oh, ditto! ๐ I act for the hand of fate in that instance, Ishi.
Haha Vinay. I couldn’t really guess you were talking about a mosquito. but did kinda guess it had to be an animal, thought probably it was a tiger or lion.

If it was a tiger in the shadows, I’d run for it, Ramya. The hand of fate would be the tiger’s. ๐
The mention of relatives and fate suggested a fly or a mosquito. Good one!

It did? Hmmm. Maybe we Mallus are so used to mosquitoes, so it rang a bell, Sreedeep. ๐
