Reaching for the Stars

Reaching for the Stars

no doubts, only dreams,
today, only a memory near,
far away childhood seems.
simple joys, all we wanted,
to sit on a swing, go high,
reach the stars undaunted.
big smiles lighting our eyes,
laughter ringing so clear,
how soon went those days,
into only a memory dear.

As part of our resolution to write more poetry in 2018, Reema and I have started this weekly prompt we’ve decided to call as Wednesday Verses. Each Wednesday, we’ll be writing a poem based on the prompt of the week, and sharing a linky. We invite you all to join us with your own poems on the prompt. Write on your blogs, and link up with #WednesdayVerses. We are happy to have you rhyme with us. Welcome!

Prompt #9 is the Photograph below:

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. Love the nostalgic feel of the poem. Childhood definitely was an innocent carefree time for a lot of us. I find this picture prompt interesting in how we have interpreted it differently! 😀

    • Each person would interpret the photograph somewhat differently, I feel. 🙂 The thousand words it speaks to me might be different from what it speaks to you, no?

Glad you liked the poem, Babby. 😀
