Light of Hope

Light of Hopes (A Poem)

Morning light
It breaks the mist,
As I walk ahead,
My neck – sun-kissed;

Yesterdays clearing
Like the mist around,
A fleeting moment,
Hope surrounds;

A new day dawns,
And I walk ahead;
With sun-kissed hope,
And self-doubt shed.

As part of our resolution to write more poetry in 2018, Reema and I have started this weekly prompt we’ve decided to call as Wednesday Verses. Each Wednesday, we’ll be writing a poem based on the prompt of the week, and sharing a linky. We invite you all to join us with your own poems on the prompt. Write on your blogs, and link up with #WednesdayVerses. We are happy to have you rhyme with us. Welcome!

Prompt #2 is “LIGHT”

Please link up only if you’ve written a poem for the prompt!

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. A positive poem filled with optimism and anticipation for the future. When we get rid of our inner critic, we charge full-steam ahead. May the new day always shine bright for all.

  2. Beautiful lines Vinay. I’m going try to write even if I sound like a 5th grader! Love the second verse! Yesterday’s clearing….
