Light of Hopes (A Poem)
Morning light
It breaks the mist,
As I walk ahead,
My neck β sun-kissed;
Yesterdays clearing
Like the mist around,
A fleeting moment,
Hope surrounds;
A new day dawns,
And I walk ahead;
With sun-kissed hope,
And self-doubt shed.
As part of our resolution to write more poetry in 2018, Reema and I have started this weekly prompt we’ve decided to call as Wednesday Verses. Each Wednesday, we’ll be writing a poem based on the prompt of the week, and sharing a linky. We invite you all to join us with your own poems on the prompt. Write on your blogs, and link up with #WednesdayVerses. We are happy to have you rhyme with us. Welcome!
Prompt #2 is “LIGHT”
Please link up only if you’ve written a poem for the prompt!

A positive poem filled with optimism and anticipation for the future. When we get rid of our inner critic, we charge full-steam ahead. May the new day always shine bright for all.
Yes. That inner-critic is obstinate at times, doesn’t let go. π Once it does, there is the warmth of hope. Thank you, Sulekha.
Hope: a wonderful way to start your day.

Absolutely, Anna. Thanks!
I love the image of “sun-kissed hope”.. π we need that badly in difficult and dire times like these. Beautifully rendered.
Oh yes. When the mist is cool, the warmth of the sun kissing the neck is just wonderful, Sanaa. π Thank you.
What a hopeful poem this is! Iβm inspired to try my hand at some prose poetry too. π

Amen to the self-doubts being shed. Beautiful poem.
