A post for Quadrille at dVerse. Inspired by a photograph clicked by my friend Uma Jeena that set my imagination free.
Imagination Set Free…
Letβs lie under the sky,
Look at passing clouds,
What they look like?
Letβs think out loud.
Few prancing horses,
Some wisps of steam,
Imagine the scenes,
Bring alive dreams.
Thoughts unchained,
Let our hearts see,
Like silver clouds,
Let our joys be free.

I love that double meaning possible with the word “lie” at the beginning…let’s tell ourselves whatever we want to, about what’s in the clouds, about anything. “Thoughts unchained,” joys free. Yes.

Yeah. We do leave those thoughts to whimsy, so it is a bit of both for sure, De. π Glad you loved the poem. Thanks for the challenge!
Nice, positive view of reality when the imagination is set free. Also nice sound.
Thank you, Frank. π Glad you liked the sound too.
I would love to look at clouds… but it’s already autumn here.
Oh. Does autumn has fewer clouds, Bjorn? I didn’t realize that actually.
This poem is lovely, I enjoy cloud watching and seeing where my imagination will take me.
It’s fun too. π So many different ideas seem to drift in, just like the clouds! π Thanks, Truedessa.
Like I say often I don’t much understand poetry but I did love the thought in this one. Cloud watching is one of our favourite pastimes. There’s something relaxing about it.

Glad you loved the thought, and could relate to the cloud watching. π It is very relaxing, I agree. Thank you, Tulika.
Oh, I love cloud-gazing – something we so rarely allow time for nowadays!
Sad but true. Very rare that we get time for it these days, life’s that frenetic at times. π Thanks, Marina Sofia.
I like it when you mention clouds in context of imagination. As a child I spent many evenings just staring at clouds and compare them to various figures. Sometimes an elephant, a puppy, a man’s face with a cigar and what not. Your lines brought back some sweet childhood memories.

I think it takes imagination to see shapes in clouds, and not just a cloud. π It’s fun, and something I do even now, though I don’t lie on my back under the sky. Glad you liked my poem, Anupriya.
My sister and me enjoy cloud watching and firing up our imagination on the shape the clouds seem to us. Our deductions never matched! What we see was always different from each other. We still do it at times!
“Bring alive dreams.
Thoughts unchained,
Let our hearts see,
Like silver clouds,
Let our joys be free.”
Loved these lines vinay!
Thank you so much, Keerthi. Glad you loved the lines. π Cloud watching is so beautiful, so freeing! Each have their own imaginative takes, that’s for sure!

A simple poetry bringing back the nostalgia of younger years when I used to lie on a vast span of grassland with my cousin and made funny stories about the world of clouds. This is so relatable!
I think many of us would be able to relate to it, Mansi. π Thank you for the visit and the comment.
