A post for Skywatch Friday inspired by the clouds. Also sharing with Friday Reflections (Ephemeral) and Poetry Pantry.
Clouds and Life…
A fire burns within,
Just reflected light,
But is there more?
Ephemeral cloud,
One moment red,
The next jet black
Pouring out sorrow;
And yet, even that,
The sorrows within,
Ephemeral as well;
Nothing is forever.
I walk in the rain,
And life continues,
Also ephemeral.

Thought Provoking – Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, John.
So true. Nothing is forever. It all feels like trying to hold sand while the grains keep slipping away between the fingers.

Absolutely, Ramya. We hold on to very little in the end! If any at all.
Wonderful to see you, Leo. Hope you are well. Your poem is so vivid, life with its sorrow, continuing on……..lovely.
(Sherry Blue sky recently posted… Wild Woman Goes Out)
Yes. Even with sorrow, or with joy, it is important to continue. Thanks, Sherry. π
Beautifully structured the poem.
My wishes to you.?
thanks, Shraesta. π
Not sure if my comment made it through. It is lovely to see your name popping up on a link in the Pantry, Leo. Hope you are well. A beautiful poem – sorrows ephemeral, life continuing on……….nothing is forever. Sigh. Lovely reflections.
It did come through, Sherry. π Glad to be back at the Pantry too, and I’m doing okay. Glad you liked my poem!
I have no idea why that strange emoticon is accompanying my comments, I must investigate and change it, if I can figure out how. Yikes!

Everything are just moments… but maybe like beads on string we still have a necklace of time.
That’s a nice thought, Bjorn. π A necklace of time. Interlinked moments!
Ah! That is true. This ephemeral life…the clouds make a perfect metaphor for it too!
(Modern Gypsy recently posted… Journey of a Seeker: Writing your way back to wholeness)

Loved reading this Vinay! Such a beautiful description of the clouds. “One moment red, the other jet black” – story of Bangalore weather right? π

Hi Vinay Leo. Came here via Blogchatter Alexa challenge. Liked the elegant and uncluttered layout of your blog. Regarding your poem, I am intrigued with the use of ephemeral thrice in the poem and would like to know your thoughts behind the positioning of the word. Loved the metaphorical use of changing colours of sky with changing emotions.
Also following your blog now π
Hi Gayatri! π Welcome to my blog, and thank you so much for the follow!
Glad you liked the layout. I’ve kept it so, though I’ve been tempted to clutter it a bit. π Well, first positioning of ephemeral is an observation of the cloud, how it changes so quickly. The second one compares the sorrows to the nature of the cloud, also temporary. And the last one is a contemplation of life itself, how quickly it can change or well, end. Nothing lasts forever, and it just moves on!
Beautifully expressed feelings. At end of every sorrow, there is a hope of happiness – ‘Nothing is forever’
Yes. After the storm comes the calm and vice versa too. π Thanks, Disha.
Beautifully written Vinay! Nothing lasts forever but still sometimes we give a lot of thought on many unnecessary things in our life. Life is strange in that way.
May not be unnecessary. It can be those that were necessary, but are no longer part of our life. Everything is temporary. π Glad you liked the poem, Keerthi.
Wow…I am in love with your words…
Thank you, Anubhuti. π
V nice poetry, loved the use of ephemeral (new word:))
Thank you, Z. π

π Yeah. The sky is quite random, and that moment was quite beautiful, Tina Basu. π Thanks!
And life continues … so true nah… Nothing last forever. Everything is kind of ephemeral.

Ahh, but those black clouds also bring night and rest. A lovely poem. I like the thoughts of a skywatch Friday.
They could, but even they are ephemeral, Kanzensakura. π Skywatch Friday is quite interesting!
Nothing is forever. Life is ephemeral.
Thanks, Bev.
Well yes, nothing will be there for forever …lovely written
Glad you liked the poem, Ruchi. π Thanks!
Beautifully written, life and clouds, rains and sorrow but beauty of clouds is eternal.
Yes, beauty of life is eternal too, but not all of us accept that to be at all moments. π Thanks, Dipika
Hi Vinay! Firstly, let me tell you that I love your style of writing. ItΒ΄s consistently brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. Nothing is forever… and I think that’s the best part about life. Anything that’s forever might just loose it’s importance or charm after a while.
Thank you very much, Shalu.
Loving this reflection, Vinay
Glad to have discovered another great writer and poet whose work I shall keep up with π
Glad you loved the reflection. π Thank you, Seema.

The cloud: a perfect metaphor for the ephemeral nature of life. But isn’t that what makes it more interesting, challenging? Very thought provoking write.
Thank you so much, Alwi. π Glad you liked the poem and felt it thought-provoking.
The only constant is change.
Indeed, Paul. So true.
I agree that the sorrow may be ephemeral.
I certainly hope so too, Frank.
i said it thrice . just wanted to check are you really talking about life or that the short happy momemts in life.
truth is nothing stays for ever.

(Danisha Nathyal recently posted… Wernerβs Oven)
Can be either, Danisha. π Both are ephemeral, actually. Nothing stays for ever, be it life, or the happy moments in life, or the sad moments.
