if silence spoke
more than words,
I wish I knew
what you say too.
to your joys in song
I’d sing along,
for your little fears
I want you to know
I am always here,
each time you cry,
I’d wipe your tears.
but your silence,
at times it breaks me,
I try to be strong,
so you smile along,
but it’s lonely.
silence is golden,
but for a few words,
even just one,
I’d try to bring you
the moon, the stars and the sun.
for those few words,
even just one,
I wait with ears open,
oh darling little one.

Such a beautiful poem. Very touching..The longing and the expectation and the love couldn’t be expressed better…No wonder I’m a fan of the poet in you….I’m glad that the post after a gap is poetry..May you write more and more poetry and poetic thoughts in the blog …Keep writing Vinu .😊
I hope that the poem is the first of many more after the block. It seems to have taken hold of me again though.
Glad you liked the poem, Janie. It was one that came out in flow. One of those 2am gems.
Aye, sometimes silence is deafening. The wait for the few words seems endless. Beautiful rhyme. 🙂

Yes. That wait does seem endless, Dashy.
the poignant note all along touches deeply…can’t really think of a silent child…
I can’t think of it either. I hope those words come soon, Sumana.
Oh I hope those words come, to a patient and loving listener………so nice to see you, Leo!
Yes. A very patient and loving listener, I know that. Thank you, Sherry. I’m trying to break a block, but seems a bit difficult to shake it off. Hope to return more regularly at the Pantry.

I hope so too, Jae Rose.
What touching plea you have written here; quite a weepy in fact.
It is. When that longing seems endless, it feels heavy with unseen and unheard tears, Old Egg. Thank you.
Beautiful poem. I loved the longing in it, for hearing those few words.
Yes. That’s a longing that I hope will end soon with the first words. It’s an anxious wait for the person, for sure.
Glad you liked the poem, Purba.
A beautiful and touching poem which leaves the question of what’s behind the silence. It is obvious you write with a “piece of your heart”. Well done!
Thank you, Bev. I try to keep that mystery, and in this case, it’s worth the contemplation. 🙂
Awesome poem. Especially loved the 3rd stanza.
Thank you, Suja. 🙂 It’s one of my favorite poems.
