The sight of the full moon from through the window left Rishabh wonderstruck.
“You should look out the window more often,” said Ragini, smiling.
“I’m so tired after work, I sometimes just collapse on the bed and fall asleep,” replied Rishabh sheepishly.
“Today it is the full moon, my friend. But almost every night, I see a sky full of diamonds, glittering. There is silence, so I can hear my heart beat. Each tick of the old grandfather clock is crystal clear. Around midnight, my nocturnal friend in the Gulmohar outside hoots a greeting to me. I listen to it and feel happy.”
“How beautifully you put it to words, Gini,” said Rishabh, applauding her.
Ragini laughed, then looked seriously at him.
“For an insomniac, the night becomes an irreplaceable part of their world.”
My theme for this April is something I call ON SHORT NOTICE. The topic for the letter N is Night, chosen by me, in the previous post. As I’m publishing this post very late, I will be writing on a random word from the dictionary for the letter O. The suggestions part of the theme will continue on the post for O though. Thank you!

What a poetic writing Vinu…The description of night..beauty of the sky with or without the moon..the insomniac girl who admires the stillness of the night with a keen ear that observes every sound there is…Wow!
The poet in you deserves an applause..Publish your poetry book already…
Glad you liked the description of the night and felt it to be poetic. 🙂 It’s one of my favorite times in the day (the other being dusk). 😀
That poetry book will come soon, Janie.
Having never really struggled to sleep, I can’t imagine how tough it would be! But there’s still so much beauty in the night

I have, at one time, Babby. But the night is beautiful too. 🙂 Yes. Very different to write about.
That is true though. Insomnia is bad but if one can’t sleep then better make the night a friend.

Yeah. If it can’t be helped, better to make the night a friend. Thanks, Raji.
