#AtoZChallenge 2017 – C for The Cold Blooded Murderer

The death count was rising, but the minister refused to budge.

“The roads need re-tarring,” he said, pushing the paper away..

Five days later, the cold blooded murderer struck again, claiming his son.

“If only I had…” the minister lamented, finally signing the order.

The sanitation work to clean stagnant water began the next day.

My theme for this April is something I call ON SHORT NOTICE. The topic for the letter C is Cold Blooded Murderer as suggested by Shalini, in the previous post. I request you, my readers, to suggest a word with D that might inspire my post for D. I’ll choose one from the options I get, and write on that. I won’t choose the same reader for successive days. Thanks in advance!

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. What an impact, Vinu! You excel at using very less words to make a statement. You continue impressing me with the spontaneity and confidence in your art. I don’t have to tell you that I am a fan. You should know that by now ?

    • Glad that the impact was there with the brevity, Janie. 🙂 I love attempting 55 fiction, but it has been a while since I did, so wasn’t sure if it would be impactful. Hope the flow continues to come. It’s only 3 letters in, and 23 left to go. 😀

  2. That’s a different take on the prompt. Loved it! Whoa! Sad, isn’t it. I wish he had issued the order before.
My choice for D – Devious plan, Death, Destiny. Sho, I had one more! Forgot now 🙁

    • Ah. The boy died of a water borne disease given by a cold-blooded murderer. 😉

But yes, agree. We rarely take action until it affects us in a way. Thanks, Shailaja. 🙂

    • I know. I was trying not to go for the obvious. 🙂 It’s not only politicians though, Babby. Most people would respond only when that situation affects them.

Devil’s Advocate… ooh. different. Lemme think on this!

  3. A reality in todays times? With most cities hacing sanitation issues, would our authorities when cold blooded murdere strikes their family members???

And here’s something in D- Dangerous Desires
