#20 – Echo by Jason Walker
I relate songs to memories, more often than not. This song is one that a friend asked me to hear when I was feeling low. I don’t know what did it, if it was the lyrics or the tune, but I fell in love with it then and it has been in my playlist since. It’s one of my go-to songs when I need a bit of cheering up. Music is something I find very cathartic, almost as much as writing, if not more.
I have heard other songs from the artist Jason Walker after that, but nothing compares to this one. I shared it with my sister too, and she still tells me the same, that this song is one that she loves. We sang along with it when we last went on a trip and were listening to it. So that’s another happy memory that this song is associated with.
The part of the lyrics I love the most?
Sometimes when I close my eyes
I pretend I’m alright
But it’s never enough
Cause my echo, echo
Is the only voice coming back
Shadow, shadow
Is the only friend that I have
It’s just so… damn beautiful.

Who knows? 😛 Not all of my playlist might be part of your playlist. Then again, it might be. 😉 We’ll see, based on your comments, Jb. 😀
