#12 – Shivadam
When good lyrics and music go hand in hand with amazing singing and picturization in the movie, I feel that that’s a successful song. I remember watching the movie Mazhavillu back in my school days, and I loved the movie back then. When I watched it recently, I didn’t feel it as good. But one thing that had remained as beautiful now as it was then was the soundtrack. And from the songs of the movie, this one has stayed my favorite.
Shivadam, or Shiva Parvathi Parinayam as they say in the movie, is picturized in dance by the actor Vineeth who plays the villain in the movie. I’ve no particular favorite part in the song, as the entire song is pure poetry and to me, speaks of a very strong love, between Shiva and Parvati. Whether I’m taking the lyrics at face value or not, I’m not sure. But it’s a song that I can hear over and over again. And lyrics that have stayed in my heart since the first time I heard it.

I like this song too and Vineeth! God, every muscle on that man can dance and so much grace! <3

Absolutely. He is a brilliant actor, and dancer. I remember him from Sargam too. 🙂 This song showcases that dance skill for sure, Ishi.
