Sleepless
#100DaysOfBlogging Day 13
“Go to sleep. Don’t be afraid. I’m just in the next room,” he told, tucking me into bed.
For the first time, I was sleeping in my own bedroom. He bent down, looked under the bed, and gave me thumbs up. When I smiled, he went out of the room.
“Go to sleep. Don’t be afraid. I’m just in the next room,” I told, seeing him lying on his bed.
Twenty years back, Grandpa had known what monsters I was afraid of.
But today, I couldn’t understand his. And he couldn’t remember them. And neither could sleep.
From 23rd September, exactly 100 days are left in the year, the idea is to write on each of these days. A few other friends chose their own themes. I thought I’d collaborate with Aniesha bon on the challenge. We’re choosing topics on alternate days, and each day, we’re writing on the same topic too. She chose the topic SLEEP for Day 13.

It’s so hard to see them aging isn’t it? 🙁
Hugs Leo…
Very hard, yes. I agree, Pixie.
How the tables turn! Loved the two scenarios.
Indeed. Cycle of life, I suppose. Thanks, Tulika.
Old age brings with it a lot of issues I guess..
(Bikramjit Mann recently posted… O – OH NOooooo .. Not WORDLESS Wednesday)
It does. It certainly does, Bikram.
You have given a subtle twist in this short fiction. I feel this happens in many households. Such a sad story.
Yes. It’s not totally unheard of, unfortunately. Thank you, Rohan.
