Nothing but Love…
#100DaysOfBlogging Day 10
who made the rules
he with she, she with he
nothing else goes?
he with he, she with she,
only they can know,
that it was meant to be.
empty chairs don’t matter,
for not all may agree,
but opinions differ,
if only we could see.
the wedding is the same,
same will be the vows,
after all is said and done,
nothing matters but love.
From 23rd September, exactly 100 days are left in the year, the idea is to write on each of these days. A few other friends chose their own themes. I thought I’d collaborate with Aniesha bon on the challenge. We’re choosing topics on alternate days, and each day, we’re writing on the same topic too. I chose the topic WEDDING for Day 10.

I completely agree with your parting lines.. Life’s rules do seem so silly if you break them down..but what what trouble it can cause if you don’t follow them
(Jae Rose recently posted… Finite)
It depends. Not all rules are meant to be followed by everyone. 🙂 Thank you, Jae.
Empty chairs don’t matter ….for not all may agree…
Amazing depth in this line.
Thank you, Mayura. 🙂
Loved this poem !
Wonderful 🙂
Thank you, Nimue. 🙂
A marriage has those two sides… the celebration and the show…
but at its core is the union of two people, and if it’s good the empty chairs might not matter.
🙂 I agree with you, Bjorn. Thanks.
Love definitely is the most important ‘guest’ at the wedding!
Indeed. The most valued. 🙂 The others may or may not come, but love is what matters. Thanks, Mary.
I smiled throughout my reading of this lovely piece. 🙂

Thank you, ZQ. 🙂
Yes, love is love. Well said!

Thank you, Sherry blue Sky. 🙂
Beautifully written. We need more tolerance in the society for everyone and this thought warmed my heart. The poem speaks a deep issue in such few lines.
I agree. Tolerance is needed, and acceptance too. I hope that that is the case, Avyukta.
You are quite right. We should not judge the natural selection that has allowed the planet to survive this long. The gradual over -population of the Earth may well have triggered a means of slowing it down!
(Old Egg recently posted… Quartet)
Yes. The natural selection is what counts. Of course, selection varies between people. Maybe the populating will slow down, maybe not. Who knows for sure? Thanks, Old Egg.
absolutely true…the closing line says it all…
Thank you, Sumana.
Well said, Leo! Jumble up those empty chairs, and love will find a seat.
I certainly hope that it does, Sara. 🙂
love comes in many forms, many faces. empty chairs don’t keep this from happening. love is the answer !
gracias for this bit of wisdom
Thank you, Marcoantonio. 🙂
true. Love matters. At the end of the day – its the couple who matter… not the show or the pomp and everyone else is an outsider.
(Pixie recently posted… Harvest Moon – 3 micro-fiction stories)
Absolutely. I agree with you, Pixie. 🙂 It’s their day after all. 😀 It should be about them.
I certainly can’t argue with your conclusion! 🙂
Thank you, Rosemary. 🙂
Who made these rules, indeed. Glad people are breaking the rules and letting love win!
True. 🙂 Very true, that. Thanks, Corinne.
