Morning Shadows

#100DaysOfBlogging Day 5

My shadow walks ahead,
The morning sun behind,
The silence so beautiful,
So tranquil for my mind;

Kids playing badminton,
Grandfathers with canes,
Some women doing yoga,
All smiling happily again.

Refreshed, I return,
With hopes that stay,
And yesterday’s shadows,
Slowly fading away.

From 23rd September, exactly 100 days are left in the year, the idea is to write on each of these days. A few other friends chose their own themes. I thought I’d collaborate with Aniesha bon on the challenge. We’re choosing topics on alternate days, and each day, we’re writing on the same topic too. She chose the topic MORNING WALK for Day 5.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. I really liked the sing-song quality of the poem. Even though there isn’t any particular rhyme scheme, there’s a rhythm that is so appealing.
