Unopened jars
the conscience nags
as words I type,
that what I know,
may not be true,
or the same for you;
intuition I lack,
and at times, tact;
with time I learn,
that words do scar.
thoughts in a jarโฆ
some are better
left unopened.

Yes, indeed. Sometimes that is more than true.
(De Jackson recently posted… Do we call it a pit, or a stone?)
Yes, De. More than true, I agree. Thank you.
Words do scar… very true.
thanks, Adriana.
Very good Leo. I like the way you framed the verse. Some things are definitely better left unsaid.
Yes. Some things are indeed better left unsaid! ๐ Thank you, Walter.
On an other note, though the things you say may scar others, but sometimes things that you don’t may scar you !
True. It’s a double edged knife at times, Prateek.
Yes – keeping them under lock and key might be better…

Oh yes. Some thoughts are like that. I agree, Bjรถrn.
Ah yes, some things are better left unsaid. Truth is a beautiful and terrible thing after all. ๐

Yes. Very very true, DumbleDashy. ๐ Thank you.
Beautifully-penned. I echo Dashy… some things are better left unsaid. Sighs.

Yes. Depends on the situation, I guess. Thank you, Maria.

The ending lines are so captivating – some thoughts are best kept but perhaps not bottled up forever.. A wonderful poem
True. Bottling up for ever will be stressful too. Thank you, Jae.

Love the phrase “what I know, may not be true. “
Oh yes. It’s one I find to be true, that phrase. Thanks, Bryan.

Often our words leave a deep impact upon others, I think scars are somewhat similar to battle wounds – beautiful in a way – for they show what we have been through as well as the strength that lies somewhere deep within. Beautifully executed. Thank you so much for participating at Prompt Nights and for your constant love and support.
Lots of love,
Sanaa
Yes. Words do cut deep at times, and leave a longer lasting imprint. Thanks for the inspiration Sanaa.

Sometimes it’s hard to keep a lid on that jar…
(Mish recently posted… Plight of a Pickle)
Yes Mish. It is. It’s very instinctual, the words, and we don’t think before it comes out. ๐

Sometimes it is better to keep a lid on it. Nice.
Yes. Some times, it is better. I agree. Thank you, Anita.
Hmm, wise thought.
Thanks, Rosemary!
My favorite part: “Intuition I lack, and at times, tact.”
Nice turn of phrase there.

Sometimes, its best to leave that lid closed.. once those words escape, there is no going back
beautifully penned Leo.
Yes. I’ve felt this up and close ๐ Thanks, Pixie.
