And my theme for April A to Z Challenge 2016 is…

How fast time seems to fly by. I remember taking part in the first ever April A to Z Challenge, where for the month of April (except for Sundays) we write on themes around the 26 alphabets. This year marks the 7th Blogging from A to Z Challenge, and my 7th as well. I’ve successfully completed 4 of the 6 years before, so hoping for a fabulous 5th year of blogging success. You can go here if you want to know more about what the challenge is.

I usually write fiction for the A to Z Challenge, but this year, I don’t quite feel up to that. I thought long and hard about what I could use as a theme, and first decided to write on books, characters and authors. I even announced that in an earlier theme reveal, but still could not get a complete set of A to Z. I thought of changing and doing poetry. That was usual. Then it flashed upon me, what I could do. I made a list. Checked if it will work. And saved it. Now this is done.

My A to Z will revolve around the series I’ve grown up reading, and sometimes still re-read. Yes! I’m going to do an A to Z of the world of Harry Potter. To take an example, I might write about Hermione (for H), or maybe about the place Shrieking Shack (for S) or maybe about the spell Reparo (for R). This theme will help me complete A to Z, because if I do get stuck, I have umpteen friends who are also super fans of the world of Harry Potter to help me out!

I have already quite a few A to Z participants among my friends, so I know I’ll have fun visiting the other blogs and their various themes (which range from marriage to food). If you are interested to Blog from A to Z this April, but haven’t yet officially signed up, there’s still time. You can still sign up for it. I’ve six years worth of memories that make me sure that it’s worth it.

Here’s hoping March sees a couple of posts more to warm up for the Alphabet Frenzy that the next month holds, and that the summer doesn’t make me wilt.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

    • It was actually a recent choice to go with this theme, Sneha. 🙂 Had initially thought of doing A to Z with authors or characters in general, but I couldn’t get an A to Z set in that. 😀

Glad you liked the theme and I look forward to reading the potpourri too. 😀

  1. Oooh this is the coolest theme. I’m around for sure. I did A to Z the year before last and I took up favourite authors – on my other blog. It was fun but way too taxing. So then I did my favourite characters – one a week. I enjoyed it much more. This year I’m going to sit back and read. Good luck Leo, I know this is going to rock.

    • Glad you are around, Tulika, and I do wish you take up A to Z too. 🙂 Maybe A to Z on the Obsessive Mom blog? I tried getting a set with mix of authors and characters, but couldn’t. So this theme. 🙂

  2. I haven’t read the Harry Potter series (have bought the book set only recently) so I have no clue about your theme, but because I am about to read the series anyway, I’d love to read your take on the Harry Potter series all through April.
Best wishes for the A to Z Challenge 😀

    • 🙂 Hope you enjoy my posts, My Era. Fair warning, there will be spoilers in the posts, as I’m reminiscing after reading each book about a dozen times at least. 😀
