In your dreams!
how easy it is to brush off,
something you haven’t seen,
how easy it is to just scoff
somewhere you haven’t been,
something you haven’t seen;
push away my hopes to be
somewhere you haven’t been,
that means so much to me.
push away my hopes to be
standing out from the crowd,
that means so much to me;
I’ll get there and feel proud,
standing out from the crowd,
unafraid to not be the same,
I’ll get there and feel proud,
for how I played this game.
unafraid to not be the same,
I’ll not wish the same for you,
for how I played this game,
only few have courage to do;
I’ll not wish the same for you,
maybe you’ll know some day,
only few have courage to do…
if karma does have its way.

Good definition of true courage, and I like the sense of stalwartness in your poem.
(Rosemary Nissen-Wade recently posted… Old Happiness)
Thanks, Rosemary. Glad that that courage shines through. It’s usually tough to put it across.

It is too bad, that laughing off and being on one’s way.
That laughing off of one’s way is demoralizing, yes. Thanks Marian.

Love it – This is quite a brilliant piece ๐ thank you so much for participating Vinay ๐
Beautifully executed!
Lots of love,

How easy we just let us be blended, mellowed invisible… I will wear a red carnation for courage.
(Bjorn recently posted… The purpose of our own)
We’re usually encouraged to blend rather than stand out, I feel. Thanks, Bjรถrn.

Not many realize they owe it to themselves to do good forgetting karma is a great equalizer. Rightly so Leo!

Thanks, Hank. ๐ Rightly so, yes.

Some dreams do come true, Leo. I’m not sure that I could follow your manual for doing so exactly. Does a good try count?
Thank you for peeking in on mine. The transition was not as subtle as I wanted it to be. Does ‘wanting’ count?

Oh no no, Jim. It’s not a manual or anything, just an observation. And I loved your take. Very different.
(Vinay Leo R. recently posted… In your dreams!)
Well said. How tough it is to follow your dreams when everyone around you is pulling you down! How many of us don’t even dare to articulate our dreams to our own selves. Unafraid, we need to be.
(Obsessivemom recently posted… How do you maintain your TBR list?)
Yes. It doesn’t help when the first thing we hear when we articulate that yearning is something that is demotivating.
It’s a time we need to continue believing in ourselves and who we are. ๐ Thank you, Tulika.
(Vinay Leo R. recently posted… In your dreams!)
well said Leo.. ๐

(Vinay Leo R. recently posted… In your dreams!)
Yes – well said – we must follow the paths that feel right for us no matter what others say..
(Jae Rose recently posted… Held)
Thanks, Jae. Yes, I hope we still have the strength to believe even with those voices that try to overthrow ours. ๐
Yes, only a few have that kind of courage.
Thank you, Mary.
courage…not an easy thing to just achieve
Thanks, Brother Ollie.
Courage to be different…Love your affirmation
Glad you love the affirmation, Susie. Thank you.
Really nice. Does take a lot of courage to be oneself
Much love…

Loved this – very inspirational!
Thank you, Buddah.
Well said! It’s tough to break free and follow your dreams and goals when people around you are pulling you down. But navigating through this negativity and challenges is real courage.
Yes. I hope that one can indeed navigate through those challenges, one day with support rather than demotivating voices. Thank you, Shilpa.
Going against the grain is always hard and takes courage. An inspiring example of courage in this poem Vinay!
Yes! Thank you, Carrie van Horn.
The first step is easy – it’s the continuing that is hard. We all know the different chick is often pecked to death by the others. Being different and being genuine in that difference is hard. And it is good when we can share that struggle and encourage those different chicks to be themselves and to grow.
(kanzensakura recently posted… The Beaver Lodge)
Yes. Very true. The one that stands out is often doubted, that’s true. I hope we can be ourselves, and grow too. Thank you, Kanzensakura.
Yes it takes courage to be our true selves. Good luck in pursuing your dreams. May they all be realized for you.
I hope so too, Myrna.
Yes. I am at exactly that spot, old as I am, people telling me I am too old to have a dream…….so I especially enjoyed reading this poem, kiddo. Thanks.
(Sherry Blue sky recently posted… TREES)
Well, no one is too old to have a dream or wish, I think. Thank you, Sherry Blue Sky, for dropping by.
It does take a lot of courage to hold fast to a dream…well said…
(Sumana Roy recently posted… He Couldnโt Refrain)
Yes it does. Thank you, Sumana.
It does take courage to be oneself, not like everyone else…….I especially love the quote at the end of your poem.
(Sherry Blue Sky recently posted… Waves)
Thank you, Sherry. Yes, takes some courage to stand out. I agree. ๐
I enjoyed this Vinay. thank you for the wisdom. ๐

I liked the uncertainty of the conviction in the first few lines giving way to a stronger, understanding courage. That’s what courage is all about – you know you have the courage, but at first you’ll be a little unsure but gradually you pick things up until that courage becomes you! Again, well written!!!
(Sreedeep recently posted… #366days366posts โ Day 36 โ Callieโs Reflections)
Yeah, Sreedeep. I think that that uncertainty is because of that disbelief from others. No matter how courageous, hearing those words wavers the confidence at that moment. Glad you liked the poem.
Courage to follow one’s dream is hard.. but once you do it – there is no looking back is there? ๐
That was beautifully said Leo ๐
No. Once on that path, it’s easy to be strong to that. Glad you felt the poem was beautiful, Pixie.
