100 Days of Happiness – Day 59

It’s easy to find sadness each day, but to find a moment of happiness is difficult. Last year, I couldn’t bring myself to finish the 100 Days of Happiness challenge. This year, I am more determined to finish it — Counting down to 2016 with Happiness!

The Happiness of Collecting Books

100 Days of Happiness – Day 59

For a bookworm, there’s nothing happier than buying/getting books. I’m an avid reader, and I can be lost in the world of books for hours without getting bored. Since the last three years, my shelf has got more books and the number is steadily growing. Much to my joy, and much to the wonder of my parents (who love their space).

There are a few authors who I love more than anything, and whose works I dream of collecting completely. One author is Agatha Christie, and last month, I completed the collection of crime fiction featuring her star detective, Hercule Poirot. Another author is Lee Child, and I have all twenty of his novels featuring Jack Reacher. And I have most Matthew Reilly books as well.

Enid Blyton is an author whose works got me more interested in reading when I was younger. The Famous Five and The Secret Seven were books I devoured happily in those days, and I’ve always wanted to complete the set. I’m happy today that I’ve been able to do so, getting both box sets to adorn my shelf!

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
