100 Days of Happiness – Day 58

It’s easy to find sadness each day, but to find a moment of happiness is difficult. Last year, I couldn’t bring myself to finish the 100 Days of Happiness challenge. This year, I am more determined to finish it — Counting down to 2016 with Happiness!

The Happiness of Memories

100 Days of Happiness – Day 58

It has been a long time since I last went to my native place. I don’t quite feel at home there, not a lot of familiarity. When I go, it’s mostly visits to temples and the home of relatives. And that doesn’t appeal to me at all. Though if I do go, a vist to the Guruvayur Temple, the ambience of the temple, its festive mood and such is almost a must. I feel happy seeing the bracelet I bought from there last time. It has been with me since then. I wear it at times, other times, it’s set near the Ganapati idol next to my office system. But the happiness of that memory is special.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
