100 Days of Happiness – Day 43

It’s easy to find sadness each day, but to find a moment of happiness is difficult. Last year, I couldn’t bring myself to finish the 100 Days of Happiness challenge. This year, I am more determined to finish it — Counting down to 2016 with Happiness!

The Happiness of Reaching a Blogging Milestone

100 Days of Happiness – Day 43

It’s not very often that I forget a birthday, so it was kind of surprising when I nearly forgot a birthday that means a lot to me, the birthday of this blog. Nine years back, I had taken an unsure step into this world, quietly pushed on by a friend who was then part of it too. I didn’t think I’d reach nine years. Not then. Over the nine years, I’ve grown, as a writer and as a person. Some friends and co-travelers on this blogging journey have left my side. But I’ve made friends who I feel will be by my side for a lifetime. The virtual-real divide feels blurry already. I’m happy that I remembered this milestone in time, and that a friend could still manage to write a guest post for me on the day. It’s the post previous to this one. So if you haven’t read it yet, do read it and comment. That’ll be another drop of happiness!

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
