100 Days of Happiness – Day 27

It’s easy to find sadness each day, but to find a moment of happiness is difficult. Last year, I couldn’t bring myself to finish the 100 Days of Happiness challenge. This year, I am more determined to finish it — Counting down to 2016 with Happiness!

The Happiness of Evening Walks

100 Days of Happiness – Day 27

It was sometime last year that I started to wake early in the morning and go for morning walks. It was fun, and energizing too, and I thought it’d be something that’ll fall into my routine on its own. And to be frank, it did fall into routine, at least till we went on a trip and the walk couldn’t continue there. I restarted it when a friend wanted company for morning walks, and it felt like the continuity would be maintained. Again, the lazy me took over, and for some reasons, the morning walk came to a stop again.

Be it morning or evening, to brisk walk for a few kilometers is not just joyful but energizing and calming as well. If it is in the morning, I get to see the sun rising between buildings and over the park where I go to walk. I feel the coolness of the mist as well. If it is in the evening, I get to see the moon over the trees and walking along with me. Thankfully, my house is in an area where there isn’t much traffic.

Happiness is… restarting the walking sessions today evening. It’s not as long as I wanted it to be. But it’s a start, and hopefully, I shall be able to persist this time and go back to when I would walk for 6 to 10 km each day.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
