The Happiness of Watching a Favorite Movie
100 Days of Happiness – Day 18
I’m not a big movie buff these days. I like watching them, but am not too bothered if I miss going to one with friends and stay home with a book instead. But I once was. I remember going to the first show on the first day of the release, to all the Harry Potter movies. Even though it fell on a weekday and I had college. It’s almost been a year perhaps that I watched a movie at the theaters. In a way, it does feel odd. I wonder at times, when that streak will come to an end.
I have a lot of movies with me though, some that I love to watch again and again. The evergreen movie, “Manichitra Thazhu”, which has since been remade in other languages, still ranks among my favorites. I don’t mind watching SRK in “Kal Ho Na Ho” or “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham” or Kamal Hassan in “Avvai Shanmughi”. I have few favorites in English too, like “Hitch” or “The Pink Panther”. But this one ranks higher than most.
Happiness is watching the movie “School of Life”, and smiling at some of the wisdom. The first time I saw this movie was a decade back, and I enjoyed it then, as I do even now.
