It’s easy to find sadness each day, but to find a moment of happiness is difficult. Last year, I couldn’t bring myself to finish the 100 Days of Happiness challenge. This year, I am more determined to finish it — Counting down to 2016 with Happiness!
The Happiness of Gifting Books
100 Days of Happiness – Day 15
There is much joy in giving books to friends, as much as there is in getting books from them. And I love to do that. Book exchanges with friends are fun, and I’ve exchanged books with quite a few friends now. A personalized note, a book that you loved and you want them to read, and yes, the happiness that you feel when the book is in their hands… that’s quite unique.
I recently sent a couple of books to Sreedeep, who had earlier sent me the biography of Sir Alex Ferguson. We both sent the books as a surprise, almost at the same time. The two books I sent were two of my favorite fictions. But as luck would have it, it got delayed at the courier for nearly a week almost. I mean, which courier doesn’t do delivery to residential addresses? Come on! In the end, had to leave the surprise part be, and he went to the courier office and collected it.
Happiness is the moment your book gift is in the friend’s hands, and knowing that he hasn’t read the books you had sent as the gift. Happy reading!

Absolutely, Vinay. I had the euphoria when I saw the book reached you. And the reciprocation (for want of a better word) was equally blissful! A tiring day in office, carrying the parcel home, opening it as soon as I stepped inside and finding the Desai duo – priceless!!!
Yeah. The joy is shared, I guess, Sreedeep. 🙂 Happy reading.
What wonderful and kind gestures. Books are everything. Greetings to you!
