100 Days of Happiness – Day 14

It’s easy to find sadness each day, but to find a moment of happiness is difficult. Last year, I couldn’t bring myself to finish the 100 Days of Happiness challenge. This year, I am more determined to finish it — Counting down to 2016 with Happiness!

The Happiness of Winning a Bookworm Badge

100 Days of Happiness – Day 14

They say you can’t buy happiness, but you can buy books, and that’s kind of like the same thing. I guess it’s a bookworm thing, because there are people who disagree with that too. But books and happiness go hand in hand for me, and has done so since childhood.

It was only in 2013 that I started sharing my thoughts on the books I read. It’s a nice feeling actually, to talk about that. I’ve always understood that I cannot wax eloquent on the reviews, and I’ve stuck to being honest about what I feel. Through that world of books, I’ve made a lot of friends. We interact often now, through chat or Facebook or even WhatsApp. And I’m happy that one of them is also my neighbor. Two of the book friends hold a book trivia of sorts on Twitter every Monday, and it’s quite exciting to try my hand at answering them. It’s more about the discussion than the contest, for me.

Happiness is getting a “Certified Bookworm” badge to show off to my readers, having won the trivia yesterday night. It is also a sweet victory because I’d finished a close second on the previous Monday as well. Books and happiness… yeah, little things that matter!

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. Ahaaa….Certified BookWorm! You truly are one amazing bookworm I know. And here I struggle to complete even one book a month. And best wishes for your 100 Days of Happiness. Nice way of finding topics for blogging. 🙂
