100 Days of Happiness – Day 12

It’s easy to find sadness each day, but to find a moment of happiness is difficult. Last year, I couldn’t bring myself to finish the 100 Days of Happiness challenge. This year, I am more determined to finish it — Counting down to 2016 with Happiness!

The Happiness of Reaching a Milestone

100 Days of Happiness – Day 12

There was a time in the past when I didn’t believe writing could be therapeutic. I had felt that it was only a hobby, something I liked to do once in a while. I found poetry to be just a way to put down what I saw, and not really what I felt, or observed. But it is a blessing when there are friends who see past the words and notice what you yourself do not.

One fine November evening, when I was reconnecting with an old friend through words, he happened to mention his blog, where he wrote stuff at random. And he wrote well. He suggested I make a blog too, and I did. But for a couple of years, it continued to be just a place where I pursued an old hobby. It was that same friend who came to the rescue when my life was in a very bad phase, and told me to renew that blog and write often. I did, and haven’t looked back since.

Happiness is seeing that I’ve reached 2000 posts today, and the love for words continuing to grow. It has made me reach where I am today, and I can only imagine what lies ahead. It’s something I await with anticipation.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
