It’s easy to find sadness each day, but to find a moment of happiness is difficult. Last year, I couldn’t bring myself to finish the 100 Days of Happiness challenge. This year, I am more determined to finish it — Counting down to 2016 with Happiness!
The Happiness of a Cup of Coffee
100 Days of Happiness – Day 6
The chill of winter seems to be setting in now. Though it’s only late September and it’s not as cold as it will be in November, I can feel the chill; especially in the morning when I wake up, pull the blanket a little more snug and doze off for another hour. Another couple of days, and I’ve made a promise to myself that I’ll go for morning walk once again.
The winter rains continue here in the city. The rain, quite unexpected when the city is soaked in bright sunshine most of the day, is troublesome. But it has its positive side of course; like eating hot vadas from the shop in the neighborhood or washing away the stench of a long day as I walk home. Nothing though beats the comforts of home and office, and one thing in particular.
Happiness is a cup of hot coffee, the aroma that wafts around me as it is poured, and sipping it slowly. Those few moments are so blissful. Nothing quite like it and this quote expresses what I feel about it.
“Coffee is a way of stealing time that should by rights belong to your older self.” – Terry Pratchett
