Thankful Tuesdays #33 – Book shopping

Written as part of 52 Weeks of Gratitude Challenge which I’m attempting this year.

Something I look forward to

Week 33 – Thankful Tuesdays

I think this is the third time this is coming up, but one thing I look forward to is going book shopping at Blossoms Book Store in Church Street. It’s not just the books that make me look forward to this, but the company. I go with a friend who is as crazy about books as I am, and to talk and browse the various shelves is bliss. We even like the same authors, Agatha Christie and Lee Child, and are looking at completing the collection of their books. We’ve already completed Lee Child’s 19 books of Jack Reacher, I think, but the twentieth is just around the cards. This visit, I got 5 books and she gifted me two, The Fault in our Stars and To Sir with Love. I can’t wait to read them. I think it is one thing that’s wonderful about being a bookworm. You always have books on your shelf that are unread, and more keep coming to add to it.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
