As Simple as That
“Nothing will make me go out in this weather. All I want to do is sit in front of the fire and read a good book. It’s as simple as that,” I had told myself.
But here I am, standing at the ticket counter, her little hand in mine.
“Daddy, you had promised to take me to the park today.”
The expectation in her innocent eyes had been palpable.
I smile happily as she takes the popcorn from me, babbling away endlessly about winning a teddy bear inside.
“Her trust matters more than anything.”
It was as simple as that.

Ha true. The kids will make us do anything, and doing that matters more than everything. I should know 🙂

It really IS as simple as that. That trust, that smile makes us do all kinds of stuff, stuff we’do never have imagined doing. Enjoyed that dabble.

Quite true that. But those cases, the kids would be understanding too, Dale. 🙂 Kids are sweet that way.
What a happy story. Kids can convince us to do things we don’t want to, and we always feel glad we did afterward.
Thank you, Russell. 🙂 Yes. Their happiness makes their way to our happiness too. Glad you liked the story.
Lovely story, Leo. Who can say no to a child in a case like that? Those are the times you remember. Their childhood is over so quickly. Well written. 🙂 — Suzanne
