Book – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Quote Challenge – Day 1
I have no doubt that the series which made my school days a lot better was Harry Potter and the magical world of Hogwarts. An avid reader, I had finished reading the first four from the school library by the time I entered college. I stood in queue to check the other three out from my neighborhood library when they released. And years after that, when I started earning, I bought the box set as well. They are the books I return to when time and again, I’m not in a good mood, or the books I had been reading feel too heavy. They matter to me as much as books by Enid Blyton, Lee Child or Agatha Christie, and bring back the happiness that seems to be lost. The quote I share here is from The Deathly Hallows, the last part of the 7 book series.
“Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, the most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.” — Albus Dumbledore.
For me, who loves and lives in the power of words, this rings true. I’ve been both hurt and remedied by words, and healed others’ wounds with words. Unfortunately, I’ve also hurt others with my words too. I hope that some of those hurts can be healed some time in the future, but it’s life, not a book, so I accept some hurt can’t be healed as well. Que sera sera.
