Breaking the Chains…

Breaking the Chains…

“The legend goes that a princess, cursed to live as a demon’s wife, was chained by him on the shore. Her tears during his demonic acts flowed through to the sea, creating this path where you stand.”

The tour guide sounded like a recording to Kate.

“What happened to the princess?”

“They say she died on the second night, unable to take the torture, leaving the chain behind.”

Kate took them out from her purse.

“Time to break the chains,” she said, signing the petition for divorce. It had been two years.

“Better late than never,” her sister agreed, smiling.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

    • Thanks 🙂 To each who wrote seeing that pic, it would have been a different story. That’s the power of a good picture, I suppose 😀 Glad you liked the story, Shalzzz.

  1. If the bonds become a load its wise to break the chain and Kate did that. A very sensitive tale.
