The Blogging from A to Z April Challenge was first held in 2010. The challenge is that we have to post every day of April, except on the four Sundays. April 1st is a theme with letter A, 2nd with letter B and so on till April 30th which will be Z themed. This year, I’m planning to do short pieces of fiction (not a series), or a poem based on a word with that letter.
The Itchy Palm…
“I told you not to touch the pieces of yam before I put it in water. Didn’t I?” my amma scolded. “The dish won’t be ready just by cutting the yam, Chinnu!”
But I saw her smiling as she took some wheat flour and made a paste with it and applied it on my palms.
“Mummy!” the voice breaks my thoughts and I see my little daughter standing before me, scratching her right palm vigorously. “It itches!”
Like last year, I’m taking the challenge along with my friend Bhavya. We’re writing on the same themes each day, and giving each other the themes on alternate days. Day 25, the word chosen by us was ~Yam~.

😀 that felt like a scene out of my own life! Stuff like that always happen between Mom and me. I always end up paying the price for doing something she asks me not to but still continue doing stuff 😛
Nice post Leo 🙂
Scene of your own life huh? 😛 OK. Mischievous Pooja. Ippozha pidikittiyathu.
HAHAHA, story of my life. I used to put my hands into EVERYTHING before it cooled down and Mum used to yell and console at the same time 😛
Likewise, Cookie Crumb 😀 Wasn’t a fun scolding, but was nice to hear the soothing side too 🙂 More an exasperated tone, than an angry one, alle? 😛
awww… poor little girl 🙂
My A-Z posts: http://sundarivenkatraman.blogspot.in
Indeed, Sundari. 😛
Kids eh! Hands in everything! Delightful piece.
(keiths ramblings recently posted… You…….)
Yep. Hands in everything, Keith 😛 😀 Sweet they are, though.
Time may pass but the special memories, they remain in heart as it is 🙂
Yep. Especially, the mischievous ones, Sims 😛
That sounds like me as a toddler! I have a history of sticking my hand on a hot iron. I also have a history of sticking an almond up my nose! Oh and I was always coming home with bleeding knees somehow! I don’t have kids yet, but I wonder if I do have them someday, will they repeat the same history?

Well, we’ll still be friends when Baby Kaddu comes into the world, so I’ll remember to ask. Ok? 😉
Hahaha… I hate making Yam curry for the same reason. It tastes yummy but is a pain to make.

Well, sometimes, I feel it’s worth the hassle, Harini 😀
