The Forbidden Seeds
“Don’t eat the seeds, Varun,” his father told, seeing him bite into an apple.
Varun was confused, and asked, “Why not, Papa?”
“If you do, an apple tree will grow from your stomach.”
“Papa, then why did you eat the watermelon seeds?”
Varun laughed, and saw his father, who had a pot belly, smiling back.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
😀 Ath kalaki!
When I was a kid I used to imagine vines growing in my tummy every time I swallowed grape seeds.
Also I used to plant and water lollipop sticks devotedly thinking it will one day grow into a lollipop tree like how the nursery rhyme I was taught promised 😛
Oh! What we wouldn’t do for more lollipops and chocolates! 😀 And yes, the thought of vines was terrifying na, Pooja? I used to think blue grapes were the green ones only, but painted 😛

Hehe. Kids say the darnest things. They are so awesome with their innocence and can amaze you with their ability to understand. We often don’t give them enough credit.

Well my dad still likes to say this things to some kids who would visit our place. The look on their faces is hilarious when they imagine us eating the guava that grew from their ears 😀
