Week 2 – Thankful Tuesdays
Dear Yet-to-be-Found Girl, (who’ll steal my heart),
Everyone around me seems to have an idea of who you are. My grandmother’s sister says you’ll be a pretty Nair girl, very difficult to find because I’m tall. She’s dead set against you being anyone else. My sister teases me that you’ll be one who had a crush on me in school; though introvert that I was then, the girls who fall in that category are very few, and I don’t think my sister is right. My friends are now beginning to ask if I’ve started looking for you. I thought it would be just my family who’d ask that, but no, friends are in on it too.
I’m thankful that you bring to my life, a sense of wonder that otherwise doesn’t seem to be there, and I’m thankful for that wonder too. I wonder what your name will be; what you are doing, what do you love to do? I wonder what color your eyes are, how you love to wear your hair, if your voice is soft. I wonder if you’re kind hearted or brash, pessimistic or optimistic. I wonder what music you love, and if you’d like the same books as me. I’m thankful that you still remain a mystery, and that I can imagine you to be whoever I want to be.
And I’m sure, that when you are found, I’ll be thankful that you were, and that you and I were meant to be. For I believe life is sometimes like a fairy tale, and you’ll be my happily ever after.
