The Challenges Not Met…

A Trip Down Memory Lane – Sept/Oct 2014

September of 2014 is quite special in my look back at the year. I had been thinking of shifting to a self-hosted site, but had kept postponing it for some reason or the other. I bit the bullet finally and shifted to this domain. And it has been fun. After a while, I’m back to looking at template codes and structure and such.

I started out a challenge, the 100 Happy Days one in this month, and I thought I’d do it for the last 100 days of the calendar year. But that didn’t quite work out. Being happy is one thing, noting it down is another. From September, I choose to share my first fiction since moving to a self-hosted blog. It’s titled “The Enemy Within” and it’s a story about a company in the corporate world.

October also had a challenge, the OctPoWriMo, which fell incomplete too. These incomplete challenges seem to be the story of my blogging year I suppose. But from the fifteen or so poems that came out, some were very nice. One in particular felt nice, because it made me think away from what is normally my routine and remember what I once loved, and still love. That poem was “In silence”.

(6th January 2015)

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.
