In response to the prompts at OctPoWriMo Day 15, and for UBC Day 15.
now
half way
can I play
rest my tired mind
pause my journey a day
and expect not to fall behind
that dreams will remain easy to still find
let me take a breather, then keep going somehow
so I pray they continue to be kind
for sometimes I do travel blind
trust what my instinct says
keep what I find
so I play
a day
now
The poetry form is a Diatelle, which has a syllable structure of 1-2-3-4-6-8-10-12-10-8-6-4-3-2-1 and a rhyme scheme of a-b-b-c-b-c-c-a-c-c-b-c-b-b-a. It looks best center-aligned.

Very Important to play. All work and no plat makes Vins a dull boy na. I think this imaginary race we are running, is funny. It keeps us running all our lives non stop and we expect to stop and rest after a “little while” which never comes. So we should just stop whenever we feel like and take a break.

Yes, I guess a bit of rest is very important to replenish the energy to continue further 🙂 Glad that my poem brought out this thoughtful comment from you, Jb. 🙂

I love the way you weave simple words to create magic. Poetry is something I am not at all good with. Gotta learn a lot from poets like you.
(Rekha recently posted… The Rebel)
My vocabulary is restricted to few words only, so the poems end up simple, Rekha 😉 “Poets like me”? 😮 Gosh! Thank you. Glad you consider me worth learning from 😀 What an honor!

I just said in a previous comment how difficult I find it to follow form… this was so well done… To stick to a physical form as well… wow.
I like trying out new forms of poetry once in a while, Zoe 🙂 so this was quite fun to try! Glad you liked the poem!
(Vinay Leo R. recently posted… No happily ever after…)
Hey that is such a beautiful poem! Message conveyed well and the structure is so appealing 🙂
(Bhavya recently posted… Ten Things To Do)
Yeah. Appealing structure, that’s for sure 🙂 A diamond for Ishi, both the poem and how it looks 😉 Alle, twinny?
(Vinay Leo R. recently posted… No happily ever after…)
A reminder here, thanks. Going with our instincts and living in the present moment, the best things we all can do. 🙂
(Payal Agarwal recently posted… Relaxed #Day 15)
Wonder if you swapped the two comments by mistake, Payal 😉 This reminds me of yesterday’s poem somehow O:-) But glad you liked the poem(s) 😀
(Vinay Leo R. recently posted… No happily ever after…)
A lovely poem and your form was beautifully perfect!

The shape comes automatically with the form, Sims 🙂 Glad you liked the message.
