In response to the prompts at OctPoWriMo Day 14, and for UBC Day 14.
have I a past?
of course I do,
who doesn’t?
not even you.
but hold not,
forever that,
for that’s not,
where you’re at.
you have to see,
a tomorrow too,
when you reach,
where you want to.
but seek not,
to see only that,
for that’s not,
where you’re at.
look around you,
see the blue sky,
smell the roses,
feel the wind nigh.
hear the songs,
taste the sweet,
for this journey,
slowly completes.
remember past,
look to tomorrow,
but savor today,
in joy or sorrows.
live each moment,
breathe in that,
for this moment’s
where you’re at.

Its so true, we need to live in the moment we are to truly live. But most of the times it is easier said than done.

Yes Jb. we do need to try and live in the moment, but easier said than done, that’s true too. Part and parcel of life, that.

It was like you sitting and telling me all this Leo. You and your words are magical, they spoke to me much more today and I love this poem of yours all the more for that reason alone.

Glad you loved the poem and that you felt we were sitting and talking about it 🙂 Though frankly, we’d be in too many worlds if we were to meet and talk, twinny Ishi 😉 😀

very few live for the moment..we pent for the past as if that is where we belong. lovely poem.
(philomel recently posted… Blue)
Thanks, Philomel 🙂 Yes, we do spend most of the time mourning and yearning for the past! Even those who mostly stay in the present moment, at some time or the other yearn for the past.
