In this moment…

In response to the prompts at OctPoWriMo Day 14, and for UBC Day 14.

have I a past?
of course I do,
who doesn’t?
not even you.
but hold not,
forever that,
for that’s not,
where you’re at.

you have to see,
a tomorrow too,
when you reach,
where you want to.
but seek not,
to see only that,
for that’s not,
where you’re at.

look around you,
see the blue sky,
smell the roses,
feel the wind nigh.
hear the songs,
taste the sweet,
for this journey,
slowly completes.

remember past,
look to tomorrow,
but savor today,
in joy or sorrows.
live each moment,
breathe in that,
for this moment’s
where you’re at.

Poetry & writing are to me, a breath of fresh air in a life that is sometimes covered by the smoke of sorrow or self doubt. They also become the sweets I share to celebrate when life offers me a reason to. But most of all, they are to me, my life. For each word I write is a piece of my heart, a thought that just had to find its way into the world.

  1. It was like you sitting and telling me all this Leo. You and your words are magical, they spoke to me much more today and I love this poem of yours all the more for that reason alone.
