In response to the prompts at OctPoWriMo Day 9, and for UBC Day 9.
why write? I am asked
it heals me, old scars close,
it helps me forget woes;
it fills me, with new hopes,
it pushes me to just cope.
it frees me of my chains,
it rids me of my pains,
it gifts me with old smiles,
it stays with me each mile.
why write? I am asked
to which I ask back this
why not write my heart,
I love it, and it is bliss.
(9th Oct 2014)
There are so many reasons to write. And no reason to not write. Writing is what makes me be. Writing is what helps me see.
If I don’t write I am not me.
